Solana (SOL) Price Today: SOL Tests $100 Support as ETF Outflows Offset Alpenglow Upgrade

Solana Family Daily Market Report — October 24, 2026 📊 SOL PRICE SNAPSHOT (last 24h) • SOL/USDT: $101.35 (Kraken) • SOL/USDC: $101.22 (Coinbase) • 24h change: -2.8% • 24h range: $101.07 – $105.05 • 24h volume: ~$2.25B | Market cap: ~$59.7B • For context: BTC -1.2% (~$80.5K), ETH -1.4% (~$2,362) SOL underperformed the majors today, sliding from around $104.50 toward the key $100 psychological level. The 30-day low sits at $100.32, so bulls are defending a critical zone. 📰 TOP SOLANA NEWS 1) Alpenglow is live — the biggest consensus upgrade since 2020 Alpenglow activated on mainnet on October 21 (slot 459,653,000), replacing TowerBFT. Phase 1 ("Votor") introduces direct validator voting with certificates, targeting finality of ~150 ms versus ~12.8 s before — a 99% reduction. Early dashboard readings showed ~6.6 s finality as the network rolls out, with "Rotor" (replacing Turbine) still to come. Next on the roadmap: Agave 4.5 in December, raising the versioned-transaction account limit from 64 to 96. Solana's co-founders say it's time to drop the "beta" label. 2) Spot SOL ETFs: worst month since launch US spot SOL ETFs saw about $30.3M in net outflows over the five sessions to Oct 22 — a new weekly record — with October outflows totaling roughly $72M. On Oct 22 alone, BSOL (-$5.7M) and GSOL (-$3.2M) led the redemptions. Cumulative net inflows since launch still stand at ~$1.53B, and the funds hold about 2.7% of SOL supply. 3) Institutional adoption keeps building J.P. Morgan is bringing tokenized funds to Solana and contributed to the launch of Solana's DvP (delivery-versus-payment) settlement. Samsung Wallet is rolling out USDC cross-border transfers on Solana to 82M US Galaxy devices starting this week. Solana has also opened a Shanghai office, and Hong Kong got its second Solana ETF. 4) On-chain fundamentals remain strong Active addresses hit 1.88M in early October, a 13-month high. Solana DeFi TVL is above $6.5B (+38% in two months), with Jupiter Lend topping $1.5B. Stablecoin supply on Solana is around $17.5B, and roughly 74% of circulating SOL is staked. 5) Why is SOL down? A mix of macro risk-off (higher Treasury yields ahead of the Fed), ETF redemptions, "sell-the-news" after Alpenglow, and long liquidations (>$254M across crypto). Over 470K SOL was moved to Coinbase, a possible sign of selling pressure. 📈 TECHNICAL LEVELS • Support: $100 / $100.32 (30-day low), then $96.40 (100-day MA) and $88.30 (200-day MA) • Resistance: $105, $106.65–$108 (20/50-day EMAs), then $119.90 and $124.93 (monthly high) • RSI ~41–42 (neutral-bearish), MACD on sell signal. Some analysts flag a daily head-and-shoulders that could target ~$80 if $100 breaks decisively. 🔮 SENTIMENT FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS: NEUTRAL TO SLIGHTLY BEARISH Short-term momentum and ETF flows lean negative, and weekend liquidity tends to be thin. Expect SOL to chop around the $100–$105 range. Holding $100 opens the door to a relief bounce toward $105–$107; a daily close below $100 could accelerate a move toward the mid-$90s. Fundamentally, though, Solana has rarely looked stronger: faster finality, Wall Street integrations and record activity. Short-term price is fighting macro, while the long-term story keeps improving. Not financial advice. DYOR and manage your risk. Sources: SolanaFloor, Solana.com/news, Cointelegraph, CoinGecko, Coinbase, Kraken, CryptoTicker, TradingKey, CoinDCX.
