Solana (SOL) Price Today: SOL Holds $100 as ETF Outflows, Whale Selling and Solflare Incident Weigh | Oct 29, 2026

**Solana Family Daily Brief — Thursday, October 29, 2026** Good morning, Solana Family! Here's your 24-hour roundup on SOL and the Solana network. No memecoins today: just the platform, the token and the flows that matter. ## SOL price snapshot (~12:40 UTC) - **SOL/USDT:** ~$100.41 (Kraken) - **SOL/USDC:** ~$100.30 (Coinbase) - **24h change:** about -1.2% - **24h range:** $99.27 – $103.80 - **24h volume:** ~$2.8B - **Market cap:** ~$59.2B (#7) - **Monthly context:** down roughly 15% in October, with a series of lower highs since SOL nearly reached $125 earlier in the month SOL briefly dipped below $100 overnight before buyers defended the psychological level. The day's picture: steady selling pressure meeting a very well-watched floor. ## Top stories from the last 24 hours **1. Spot SOL ETFs keep bleeding.** US spot Solana ETFs saw about $24.8M in net outflows across Oct 27–28, including $19.16M on Oct 27, the largest single-day withdrawal since December 2025. October outflows now top roughly $100M. Even so, cumulative net inflows since launch remain around $1.5B, with net assets near $1.56B (SoSoValue). This is profit-taking and de-risking, not a mass exit. **2. Whale unloads ~1.02M SOL.** On-chain trackers (Lookonchain) flagged a wallet that sold about 1.02M SOL (~$104M) over five days. The owner has not been identified. Supply of this size hitting the market goes a long way toward explaining why every bounce has stalled. **3. Solflare validator security incident: user funds safe.** The Solflare-branded validator, run by an outside operator, stopped earning after a security incident affected the operator's validator keys. About 1.56M SOL (~$160M) was delegated to it. Solflare says **no user funds were touched**: stake stays in users' own stake accounts, and a validator key cannot withdraw it. A replacement validator is live, and Solflare will cover missed rewards for users who migrate. Because stake changes only take effect at epoch boundaries (~2 days), the move takes a few days. Solflare also warns it will never DM users or send links, so stay alert for phishing. **4. Institutional rails keep growing.** - **Jupiter x BitGo:** a new institutional validator lets BitGo custody clients stake SOL with Jupiter straight from their existing custody accounts. - **Google MPC on Solana:** Google's Multi-Party Compute custody tech is being used to secure digital assets on Solana. It is in private preview with major financial institutions, and commercial launch is targeted for early 2027. - **Mirae Asset tokenized notes:** Mirae Asset Securities' Hong Kong unit issued six-month tokenized notes on Solana under its $3B program, aimed at institutional investors. **5. Treasury-company shakeout continues.** SkyAI is winding down its SOL digital asset treasury (DAT) strategy and extending a cash tender offer to shareholders, the latest sign that the 2025-style "SOL treasury" trade is cooling. **6. Network fundamentals.** Alpenglow, live since Oct 21, replaced TowerBFT. Real-world median finality is around 400 ms so far, versus the ~150 ms target. That's still a big leap, but the market has treated it as "sell the news." Tokenized-equity holders on Solana have reached about 1.5M, roughly five times August's level. Issuance and fee-burn proposals (SIMD-550 / SIMD-553) remain under discussion. ## Key levels to watch - **Support:** $100 (psychological) → $98.7 (lower Bollinger band) → $96 → $90. Analysts flag $80–$88 if a daily head-and-shoulders setup confirms. - **Resistance:** $104–$105 (20-day midpoint) → $108–$112 → ~$110 (upper Bollinger band). - **Momentum:** RSI around 35–41, MACD negative. Liquidation clusters sit near $99.5. ## Market sentiment for the next 24 hours: **Cautiously bearish / neutral** Flows are the problem: ETF redemptions, a large whale distribution, and a risk-off macro backdrop (firm dollar, high yields ahead of the Fed) all lean against SOL in the short term. The $100 zone is the line in the sand. A daily close below ~$98.7 would likely open a move toward $95–$96. Reclaiming $104–$105 would neutralize the short-term downtrend and put $108+ back in play. The bigger picture looks better than the chart. Google, BitGo, Jupiter and Mirae are all building institutional rails on Solana, Alpenglow is live, and cumulative ETF inflows remain strongly positive. Short-term traders should respect the levels. Long-term builders have more reasons to stay than to leave. *Solflare stakers: check your delegation, migrate to the new validator through the official app only, and ignore any DMs or links.* --- *Sources: SolanaFloor, Solana.com, Cointelegraph, CoinDesk, crypto.news, TradingKey, TokenPost, CoinGabbar.
