Solana (SOL) Price Today: SOL Holds $100 as Alpenglow Goes Live and Tokenized Stock Holders Hit 1.5M | Oct 26, 2026
**Solana Family Daily Brief — Monday, October 26, 2026 (12:00 UTC)** ## SOL price snapshot (last 24h) - **SOL/USDT:** $101.70 — **+0.7%** in 24h (open $100.96) - **SOL/USDC:** $101.55 — **+0.7%** in 24h (open $100.84) - **24h range:** $99.88 – $102.27 - **Market cap:** ~$59.9B (top 7) · **24h volume:** ~$1.9B, lower than the previous day SOL spent the day defending the **$100 psychological level**. Buyers stepped in on every dip toward $99.9, but sellers keep capping the bounces just above $102. For context, SOL started October around $121, so the month has been rough. The past 24 hours, though, brought some much-needed stability. ## Top Solana news **1. Alpenglow is live, and the network is faster than ever.** Solana's biggest consensus overhaul since 2020 went live on mainnet on October 21. Alpenglow targets **~150 ms finality**, about 99% faster than before. It also replaces costly validator vote fees (~2 SOL/day) with a cheaper 0.8 SOL per-epoch admission ticket. Solana's co-founders now say it's time to drop the network's "beta" label. This is a structural upgrade for the long term, even though price hasn't reacted yet. **2. Tokenized stock holders on Solana hit a record 1.5 million.** According to Blockworks data shared by Solana, wallets holding tokenized equities reached an all-time high of 1.5M. That's roughly **5x since August**, up from 1M in September. Stablecoin holders on Solana also passed **14 million**. Real-world assets and payments keep growing on-chain. One caveat: most of this activity settles in USDC, so it doesn't translate directly into SOL buying pressure. **3. DeFi Development Corp keeps stacking SOL.** Nasdaq-listed DFDV added **5,346 SOL** to its treasury, bringing its total to about **2.6 million SOL**. Corporate treasuries still matter for long-term demand, even after another treasury firm (SkyAI) sold its SOL holdings last week. **4. Hong Kong backs a Solana infrastructure company.** Hong Kong named a Nasdaq-listed Solana-focused company a "strategic enterprise" under its OASES program. It was the only blockchain infrastructure firm picked this round. The company plans validator infrastructure, staking and a SOL treasury in Asia. It's a positive signal for institutional adoption in the region. **5. ETF outflows are still a headwind.** US spot Solana ETFs keep seeing net withdrawals, with about $8.5M out on Oct 22. Total net assets are near **$1.6B**, and October is on track to be the products' weakest month since launch. Until those flows turn positive, rallies may struggle. **6. Security reminder: BloomTrading wallet drain.** About **9,400 SOL (~$954K)** was drained from users of the BloomTrading trading bot. This was **not a Solana protocol issue**; it appears tied to the third-party app. BloomTrading has pledged refunds. Be careful about which bots and apps you trust with your keys. ## Technical picture - **Support:** $99.80, then $98.60 (lower Bollinger band ~$98.70) - **Resistance:** $102.20, then $103.40; above that, the 20-day average near $106 - **RSI(14):** ~35, close to oversold. Stochastic is already in oversold territory. - **Trend:** SOL is still below its 7-, 20- and 50-day averages, but well above the 200-day (~$88.50). - **Derivatives:** Open interest ticked up slightly and funding is neutral-positive. Short-term taker flow leans toward sellers. ## Market sentiment for the next 24h: ⚖️ Neutral, with a slight bullish bias Oversold momentum, steady fundamentals (Alpenglow, record RWA and stablecoin users, treasury buying) and a firm defense of $100 all favor a relief bounce. A **clean break and hold above $102.20–$103.40** could open the way toward $106. On the other hand, persistent ETF outflows and a cautious broader crypto market (BTC hovering in the low $80Ks) mean a **daily close below $99.80** would likely bring a retest of $98.60, with $95 below that. Our base case is range trading between **$99 and $104**, with the $100 level as the key line to watch. *This post is for informational purposes only and is not financial advice.
